Belted Tango
5' by 3' Oil and mixed media on canvas

This is a painting created for a famous theatre in Russia, called the “big dramatic theatre, for Gorkov”. However when the painting was shown to the primary curator of the theatre he declined the painting stating that this type of concept was un-allowed, as there was no such thing as a belted tango which involves red belts that are put on when dancing. Of course the curator was unable to see beyond the image which captures commitment between two people who love each other, their romantic embrace, as well as the harmony in which they move together.
